Sad loss of a young life. With recreational drug use on the increase AED`s should be in nightclubs, pubs, discos (are they still called that?), everywhere and anywhere a risk exists.

SADS killed my daughter and sister, but I won't let it take my son | Mail Online
This tragic story tells of why every school should have an AED. It identifies the number of potential heart anomalies and the risk associated with them. With statistics like these there is no excuse for not having a defibrillator accessible for everyone.

3 students leap into River Clyde to save drowning woman after police REFUSE | Mail Online
Youngsters show their selflessness and lack of inhibition when it comes to saving a life compared to supposedly mature/ caring professionals. Train all kids in CPR and AED use and produce a confident and competent new generation of life savers.

Tasburgh: Children buy lifesaving equipment - EveningNews24
This is a great story of a bunch of kids who raised enough funds to buy their school an AED/ defibrillator having been made aware of the tragic statistics associated with the unnecessary loss of life due to cardiac arrest. I think its about time the government supported this idea with a grant or other incentive to allow every school to have one.

Where are you most likely to survive a heart attack? You're better off in a Swiss brothel than a public building in Britain | Mail Online
A great article which came about after the journalist read about The Defib Centre tyring to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the unnecessary loss of life it causes. If the Government (whoever they are!) were to invest a tiny amount comparative to other wasteful expenses on AED placement and minimal training for all, especially school kids, so many lives could be saved and families maintained. Our campaign may finally be getting underway!!

BBC News - Cycling paramedic begins trial in Salisbury
Last week I posted a story about a para-medic on horseback kitted out with a defibrillator, this week its via push-bike. Whatever mode of transport the essential life saving ingredient is time, rapid access by whatever means equals a higher survival rate................... what next? Roller skates!!

WOODFORD GREEN: Man thanks life-saving pub regulars (From East London and West Essex Guardian Series)
This is a story of a life saved by regulars in a pub who had no previous first aid training but were able to follow instructions and administer CPR from a book. This kept the victim (who had no previous heart problems) alive long enough for the paramedics to arrive and deliver a life saving defibrillation shock.

How appropriate, a defib deliverd by horse, why not? Rapid access is what its all about after a sudden cardiac arrest and if a horse can get there first, fantastic.
